Sephardic Ireland – Jewish Communities in 18th Century Cork and Dublin

Cork’s Sephardic presence appears in scattered records from 1685, with a small Portuguese-linked community forming sometime between 1725 and 1772. Its clearest trace was the Kemp Street burial ground. Names including do Porto, Lyons, Solomons, Levy and Pereira show a fragile port network that faded by 1796.
