The Grapefruit Ladies and Nelson Mandela (1984-1987)

Irish shopworkers at Dunnes Stores in Dublin, led by Mary Manning, refused to handle South African grapefruit in 1984, sparking a three‑year anti‑apartheid strike that won global support and Mandela’s thanks.
