Alexander “Sandy” Drew (1847–1936), eldest surviving son of Alexander Drew of Dalmonach and Blairmore, helped run the family calico‑printing firm before founding his own textile company at Rainshore Mill, Rochdale. Based at Holme Lodge, Burnley, he and his wife Alice Ashworth raised one son and four daughters, their story mirroring the rise and eventual decline of Alexander Drew & Sons.
