Jack Drew (1881-1933), aka John Malcolm Drew, of Burnley, Lancashire

Born in 1881 into the calico‑printing Drews of Burnley, our great‑grandfather Jack Drew was a Charterhouse boy who skied St Moritz, studied textile innovation in Germany and married the enigmatic “Woman in Black,” Sylvia Peart Robinson. Their five children, shifting houses and habits, knit the Drew story through mills, music, P&O steamers and two world wars.
