Judi Dench’s Irish Roots

Judi Dench grew up knowing almost nothing about her mother’s Irish family. Olave Jones was a red-haired Methodist from Dublin who married at Sandymount in 1922. Her roots ran back to the landed Boltons of Brazil House, Swords. She was also the woman who once threw a brand-new Electrolux down the stairs.
