This my foolhardy attempt to make sense of the Roe family, one of the more complicated families I have come across in terms of untangling who was who. My focus is primarily on the branch who settled in the Mountrath area of County Laois. However, this means I have tumbled into a rabbit warren pursuing Roe branches across Laois at Woodbrook, New Park, Millbank, Middlemount and Beckfield, etc., and across the Tipperary border to Derrymore, Loran Park, Rockwell and Ballykelly.
